37 million reasons for politicians to hide

There are 37 million reasons why the Pennsylvania Legislature is attempting to hide behind one of the weakest open records laws in the country.

Those 37 million reasons correspond to the $37 million lobbyists spent during the first six months of 2007 to influence the Legislature.

Special interest groups control the Pennsylvania Legislature. Your state Representative or state Senator is owned by lobbyists. As long as money talks and lawmakers keep the public in the dark, Pennsylvania will continue having the most corrupt state governments in the country.

The most expensive state Legislature in the country is taking a two-week break without approving major revisions to the state's open records law, considered one of the worst in the country.
