Far left goes after home schooling

Interesting commentary in The Mercury by U.S. Rep. Joe Pitts, a Pennsylvania Republican, about the attack on home schooling by the far left in California.

This is the same crowd that believes the government should raise our children. Imagine how far it will go if Hillary "It Takes A Village" is elected president.

If you're on the fence about the 2008 presidential election, keep in mind that the next president will most likely nominate 2 or 3 new Supreme Court justices. Do you want those justices being picked by Sen. John McCain or two of the most liberal Democrats in the country?

"Most distressingly, the court's ruling makes the claim that parents possess no constitutional right to home school their children," Pitts writes. "This means a California judge has told parents in California that the state knows how to raise and educate their children better than the parents themselves do. The ruling provides for criminal sanctions for parents who do not comply — criminal sanctions for wanting to teach their children in their own home. I find this deeply disturbing."
