More proof Rendell is a lame duck

I said it a year ago, but if you need more proof that Ed Rendell is just going through the motions as a lame duck in his second term, look no further than the Pennsylvania Senate's rejection of Rendell judicial nominees.

"Thanks, but no thanks" is the message Senate leadership is sending to Rendell on four of his nominees.

Republicans control the Senate by a 29-21 margin and they're in no mood to compromise with Rendell.

One of the Rendell nominees would be the 7th member of the state Surpreme Court, which now has six members thanks to last year's resignation of Chief Justice Ralph Cappy.
