Group offers alternatives to combat high gas prices

AAA Mid-Atlantic reports that seven gas stations in the eight-county Philadelphia region posted prices of $4 or more for regular gas, according to GVF Transportation.

With the holiday weekend and summer quickly approaching, some drivers may want to drive less or consider alternative transportation options, the group suggests.

GVF Transportation is a non-profit membership organization designed to represent the transportation needs of both public and private entities.

Carpooling, vanpooling, biking, walking or utilizing public transit when possible, are some of the methods you can take to saving money, reducing your emissions and improving your health, the group says.

Whether commuting to work or running errands on the weekend, GVF Transportation offer alternatives.

For employers, GVF Transportation can help start a shuttle program and/or promote carpooling within a company. One service GVF Transportation provides is coming out to a company and assist with creating a Transportation-Demand Management (TDM) Plan.

GVF Transportation also has a diverse group of partners.
